Tove Jansson 100 Vuotta

As the first seminar of three is over and done with (and the stressful week I'd rather have spend crying under my blankets is over) I decided to treat myself a bit :) Me and my brother went and ate in Tiger Sushi (Yummy! :3) and I went to buy myself something nice - a booklet of Tove Jansson with the First Day Cover and the stamps that came out a week ago :)

the booklet (texts in Finnish, Swedish, English and Japanese :D

Some text, FDC and the stamps :)

More text and the extra sheet with English and Japanese translations :)

I also bought an extra FDC (but haven't decided what to do with it) and some stamps :)
So happy :3 I also restocked my Porvoo/Finland postcards and chose to take the evening off from school work :) I've been stressed this whole week with all the assignment and not getting all the information I needed so sitting down and laughing with my dad while watching the Opening of the Winter Olympics was just perfect :) Really looking forward to how the Jamaicans do ;)

:D Mun ekat merkit uusilla hinnoilla...

    1. ON!

    1. I know! :D I didn't even know that they had one! I was SO surprised to see it when the postal lady (my favourite one) started talking about it :D She said that I could even send it to a friend in Japan as it has the text in Japanese but nah, I'm keeping it! :D It's just too amazing to send >3< Maybe if I get another one later on I could send that forward but definitely not the first one :D

    2. It's cool that they have one. :) And that's great that it has text in several languages :) I wonder why in Japanese though...because of the Moomins maybe?
Yeah..I think if I were you, I would keep one for myself too. :)
Does that booklet cost anything extra...or is it just something you get when you buy the stamps?

    3. It's in Japanese definitely because of the Moomins :) There are celebrations of Tove Jansson 100 years even in Japan :) And apparently they're even opening a Moomin theme park near Tokyo :) Even the most popular Moomin series is made in Japan :)
It costs extra :S The stamps are 2€, FDC is 2,7€ and the whole booklet is 9,1€ which makes the plain booklet without the stamps and FDC to cost 4,4€.. :/ Not that expensive but still.. :/
      And for once we even got Maxicards and there are even postcards of Tove Jansson!! I found those from Posti's website and would LOVE to get those!! ;;__;;

    4. Yeah...first I was like "why in Japanese?"...:P but then I remembered all the Japanese names on the Moomin DVDs :)

Ah, ok :) Looks like that booklet is worth that price though :) I wish we'd get such booklets here too (of some famous people)..but I don't remember seeing something like that here yet...just special stamps...

Those maxicards are cool :) How many cards do you get for that price? All those shown there? With the Tove Cards I think it says 4...but with the others I couldn't find anything...

    5. We don't get that many booklets either and this Tove one is first of its kind that I see :) Bet it's because it's a BIG year for her and Moomins and as it's celebrated all over the World Finland had to do something special :)

6 maxicards :) It's a bit expensive but we'll see if I get those.. Especially since we'll be getting new stamps on March 3rd and I've totally fallen in love with this one set of stamps :3

Yeah, the Tove cards it's just those 4 but all the online postcard stores apparently sell Tove Jansson cards - both of her and her work :)

    6. Yeah...100 years Tove Jansson...that's really cool and surely a big celebration :)

I looked at the website posti.fi today and saw a news article on those new stamps..the Olympics stamps with Sami Jauhojärvi and Iivo Niskanen..that stamp looks cool :)

And I also like those stamps from your link with the ship...Merellinen Pohjola :) they look great :)
Those Onnea stamps look nice too...especially the one with the cat :)

That's cool that all online stores are selling those Tove cards then :)

    7. Luckily all those stamps you mentioned are published tomorrow so I can get some stamps before I send you a reply (though it might take months for me to get back right now with the stupid thesis X__x)!

I think I'll try to look for the Tove postcards from stores this Tuesday if I have a lot of time in Porvoo before my afternoon class :)

Minkäs hintainen tuo FDC on?
